1.25" x 1.25" - During the 12th century, Eleanor of Aquitaine gave this ring to King Henry II of England so that he would know when to leave the hunt and return to his beloved wife. The Aquitaine Sundial is an instrument that indicates natural time by casting a bead of light rather than a shadow. Instructions: 1) Set the Sundial by rotatng the brass dial until the hole lines up with the current month. 2) Hang the sundial freely from its chain or cord with the hole pointing toward the sun. This will cast a shadow on the inner calibrated surface and allow sunlight to pass through the outer ring. 3) A bead of light will miraculously appear on the inner calibrated surface and indicate the time. *During daylight savings time an hour must be added as this timepiece will only tell you the true or 'natural' time.
