Gary Todoroff is a local photographer who captures the beauty of Humboldt County from the air. This poster features the St. George Reef Lighthouse.
Text under title: America’s most expensive lighthouse took 10 years to build in 1892, six dangerous miles offshore.
Text bottom right: The old lighthouse, deserted since 1975, still stands proud and 144 feet tall (44m) from its rocky island perch near Crescent City, CA. It was photographed from a U.S. Coast Guard HH-65 helicopter with a Hasselblad ELM medium format camera with 100mm Zeiss lens on Kodak Pro 400 film, steadied out the open door by a Kenlabs K-6 gryo and a tightly strapped gunner’s belt.
Watermark is for web-site display only and is not in the full-sized poster.
Full size of the photograph with white borders is 24x32 inches, with the actual image trimmable to a standard 20x30" poster size.
